Kary and I worked in Michigan public schools as elementary teachers and principals. Kary worked in Holt, MI and I was a principal for thirty years in South Lyon MI. We're happy to say that we have been retired since the fall of 2004.

We love living in Ann Arbor on the west side. We love our home and collect Heywood Wakefield furniture, which I find and restore.

My interests are running  Michigan Runner Article also Google "Wally Herrala", fly fishing and fly tying, duathlons, listening to music, home improvement, reading, climbing in Colorado, and camping in our Lance truck camper.

Our daughter Marija and her husband, Nipper, live in LA and we like to travel there to savor the SOCAL lifestyle. They both make their living as ad actors. Marija also has a photography businesss and Nipper is a writer. Here they are on the set of a Lowe's commercial that by a freakish circumstance I was also in.

 We also like to travel to Seattle to see my son Josh and his wife Anjana. The biggest attraction is our beautiful grandchild,  Anoushka. Josh does computers and Anjana is a anesthesiologist at Children's Hospital. Seattle is a great place to visit and we visit as often as we can. They have a home in the Laurelhurst section. I like to run and bike on the trail that runs through Seattle.
